Data processing terms
These terms describe how Rootd processes data on behalf of a customer (the controller) when providing the platform. They supplement the Terms of service.
1. Roles of the parties
For battery telemetry and tenant data processed to provide the service, the customer is the controller and Rootd is the processor, acting on the customer's documented instructions.
2. Scope & purpose
Rootd processes ingested BMS telemetry and related metadata solely to operate the platform: normalization into the digital twin, forecasting, recommendations, and security/audit functions. Processing is bounded to the customer's tenant.
3. Security measures
Rootd maintains technical and organizational measures including tenant isolation, audited reads, encryption in transit, and monitored ingestion. Connectivity loss is modeled as a state rather than silently dropped. See Tenant isolation and Security. enumerate measures with counsel / security team
4. Sub-processors
Rootd may engage sub-processors to provide the service, under written terms no less protective than these. A current list and change-notification mechanism are made available to the customer. link sub-processor list
5. International transfers
Where data is transferred across borders, Rootd relies on an appropriate transfer mechanism. specify mechanism & regions with counsel
6. Term & deletion
Rootd processes data for the term of the order and, on termination, deletes or returns it within an agreed window, subject to legal retention requirements. specify deletion window
